The message it seems to me was intended as a brief thank you, a get well wish and perhaps an explanation to his fans of what it meant to him to do it perhaps in response to some whining fans.


But...I have to agree with Michelle with respect to the mod's reply. I don't think it was helpful and actually brings a negative perception to the whole thing.

I mean for god sake. I loved that it wasnt for publicity etc. But that was a great little statement. Fair enough it was temporary but the mods could of just stated something like you said and all would be well.

Besides, I think the message was very touching and should have been left up. And I don't mean for a few more days. I think they should have left it up just as they do all the other messages and news announcements.

Also agrees with Michelle's and Mlue's points. When I read that thread today it made me feel disillusioned, smiley faces do not take away the tone I perceived!!! I also feel for the fans who only log in infrequently and missed it!

I mean I dont really get it. I mean now we all know he was there. It wasnt a glory seeking statement. It was a touching message and yeah there would be fans who hadnt got a chance to see it yet. Sometimes the whole mentality of it amazes me. Least if they were taking it away say that it was the wishes of Darren or whatever.

Maybe they didn't anticipate it would be such a big deal....I guess if it was me, I wouldn't have anticipated it was a big deal. Personally, I think some of the replies in the thread at the fc board are what made it a big deal. And I guess my own take would be that the moderators didn't know why it was taken down. But that's just all my guesses.
